About the Collection:

Susanna de Simone was born in Palermo, Sicily, and since she was a child she used to follow her father Giovanni in his workshop. Giovanni de Simone is an internationally recognized artist who passed on to Susanna his passion for ceramics and his amazing technical skills.

All her artwork, from dishes to vases to tiles, are made of clay, or keramos in ancient Greek, from whence we get the word ceramics. Susanna’s style is unique, characterized by punchy patterns and bold colors that stand out against a white ceramic body that resembles porcelain for its brightness. The outstanding inventiveness of the subjects depicted and the extremely simple lines recall Picasso, Matisse and Klee.
